Just finished the Zapata to laredo race. What a fast race!!!!! I have never averaged such a speed. It was grueling to keep up and then there were hills. The top group of riders were great. Everyone had skill and I really didnt worry too much about someone crossing wheels or taking someone down. Bad memories from previous weekend when a rider in front took me and another teammate down at 27 mph. But all is well.
Riding in the wind again is a b%#@$. Luckily I can ride with some friends and keep the pace up. Summer days are hot and grueling. My advice--stay hydrated.
